“Seussical” is based on the beloved Dr. Seuss book “Horton Hears a Who.” Imagine, if you can, an entire planet the size of a dust speck, and an elephant who hears the inhabitants of the planet, crying for help. A dozen Los Alamos kids from ages 6 to 14 play the singing, dancing inhabitants of the planet.
Some Seussian adults are allowed in the story too, as Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, the Mayor of Whoville and his wife, the Sour Kangaroo, General Schmitz, Yertle the Turtle, the Grinch, a bevy of birds, and mischievous monkeys.
Los Alamos Little Theatre’s production of “Seussical” plays Fridays and Saturdays, September 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25, at 7:30, p.m., and Sundays, September 19 and 26, at 2:00, p.m. Tickets will be available at CB Fox about two weeks before the opening and at the door.
